Morgann McClanahan to headline on 9-3-05 at the "House!"

Hi everyone:

Exciting news: The 'House WILL be open on September 3rd from 7:00 to 10:30 and the GREAT NEWS is that Morgann McClanahan will headline the 3rd show! Yeah...that IS cool! Check out Morgann's web site at www.morgannministries.com. If you have not heard her, she is a vocalist with an outstanding soul and a vocal talent to match. Don't miss it!

In addition to Morgann, the House Band will be there, K.T. Vandyke and Gene Boyd will be performing, and we are currently lining up other performers. COMEDY...hmmmm, well, as always, we will have someone, but that is being negotiated as we speak ;).

Saturday the 20th - It was AWESOME!

Hi Everyone!

Too bad if you missed Saturday night ! ;) IT WAS THE BOMB! The crowd was really into it and the music was never better!

We had a genuinely AWESOME time...a lot of off-the-cuff performing was happenin'! It was totally cool! A couple of performers were unable to make it, but the House Band picked up the slack with songs like "How Far is Heaven," "Hungry," "Sweet Home Hosanna," and a bunch more! The House Band fired things up for the "Back to School Party" with a Christian rendition of "The Future's So Bright, I gotta Wear Shades!" The band and part of the audience wore sunglasses for the song - it was a BLAST!!! HEY....to the CROWD - you guys ROCK!!!

K.T. Vandyke and Gene Boyd performed some excellent stuff during the night and were gracious enough to join the House Band for the evening (and hopefully for a long time to come!). They added a real flavor to the mix! Other performers included Emily Ratliff, Heather Hagerman, and a special performance by Elaine Harman. Jeff Arwood and Derek Stilwell provided comic relief and didan outstanding job of it (Jeff has some great suggestions for making Nascar more exciting, like adding Gatlin Guns and Missiles to the hoods of the cars - HMMMM....

Many thanks to EVERYONE who worked, performed and attended! It is a new season for Higher Ground and we are scheduling new acts for the fall! PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE NEXT ONE! We are currently considering Opening on Labor Day weekend, but that is thus far inconclusive. I gotta admit...I AM EXCITED!

Keep it here! More later...Godspeed...BR

BACK TO SCHOOL PARTY ON the 20th!!!

Sup?!

Hey guys! I feel a little ridiculous since I last wrote on the blog that I would have the opportunity to write all the time (yada, yada, yada - since I am out of school, yada, yada, yada, etc...) - long story short - I haven't. REAL LIFE KICKS IN SOMETIMES ;)

Anyway - WE'RE BACK! Higher Ground reopens on August 20th with a "Back-To-School Party" for the masses! We are excited about this one. Should be a blast. We are lining up local performers and will also have a bit of "OPEN-MIC." If you want to sing, do a skit, play an instrument, do some stand-up comedy, etc....BE SURE TO VISIT!

If you read this blog, be sure to pass on to your friends and let's get this party STARTED NOW so the 2oth will be awesome!

More later. By the way -- GOD IS GOOD! BR
